This was the journey of our adoption of a little boy from Ethiopia.... and then was the journey of our life as a family of five.... and then was the journey of us becoming a family of seven with two more boys.... now it is the blog of us being a family of seven waiting with confident hope to see what He has next......

Bike Riding Memories!
These last few weeks we've been getting together with some friends and doing some walking and bike riding. It's been really fun!
This day was one of the most memorable of our walks so far. As my friend and I were walking the path and pushing the strollers, Carter and his friend Adam were a little ways up from us riding their bikes. When all of a sudden I see Carter disappear off the path into the ditch full of weeds and tall grass. He finally made it out, but his bike didn't. It took me climbing down into ditch while my friend Paula held my hand and helped to pull me out with the bike!! What a sight I'm sure it was. All the while Durant and Ana were crying because they were scared of what was happening to me!
So this picture shows how we finished the walk.....

Our New Patio!
This last weekend we finally got our patio done!! Matt has been wanting this for so long. We got a really awesome patio set with a fire ring right in it. Yesterday we decided to break in our new patio so we celebrated by lighting a fire!!
I had just gotten done saying that I wished we had stuff to make s'mores and no less than 3 minutes later my mom showed up with the makings for s'mores!! Matt had called her without me knowing it! So we all had so much fun roasting marshmallows and laughing.
Since we're not a big camping family (at all) it was hilarious watching Carter, Durant, and Ana roast marshmallows!! Actually at one point Durant had gotten a nail and put a marshmallow on the end of it and was trying to roast that. Apparently that's how you roast marshmallows in Ethiopia!!!!
It was such a great night with great memories made!!

India Arie
India Arie has been one of my favorite female singers for several years now. But lately this CD has been my favorite by far. India's lyrics are so powerful and really say something that matters. Our whole family likes to rock out to this Acoustic Soul CD!! One of our favorite songs is I am Not My Hair. One of the cutest things ever has to be listening to Carter sing along with the song about always being black!!! Her lyrics speak to each of us in our own special way.
Check it out when you have the chance!!
