Fun in MN

We took Durant to Como Zoo and he loved it. He loves seeing all the animals and pointing at them!
Now we are all set to go to the really big Zoo in Omaha, NE. We leave in just a few days for our first ever family of five vacation!!!

After the zoo, we went to Grandma Darla's house to hang out. It was a very fun day!

Carter's Baptism

On Sunday, July 21 Matt had the honor to baptize his oldest son. Carter was so excited to take this next step in his journey with God and Jesus. We are so happy and proud to be able to parent this wonderful boy!!

We love you so much Carter and we love your compassionate, kind heart.

Action City

On Saturday we got to celebrate my Mom's 60th birthday with a party at Action City. We had fun riding go karts, bumper cars, mini bowling, lots of arcade games... especially Deal or No Deal!!

It was a lot of fun!! Happy Birthday Mom (July 25th)! We love you!!!!

4th of July

I just realized I never posted about the 4th of July. We had a great day celebrated Durant's 1st 4th of July. We did our annual trip to Carson Park for family fun activities. We visited the museum, played games, and saw a lot of people we haven't seen for awhile.
Later that night Matt, Ana, and Durant stayed home while Carter and I went to the fireworks together. It was really fun to have that special time together with just Carter. He is so much fun.
Happy belated 4th of July!

Teddy Bear Park

While driving around yesterday, my Mom and I found this great park in Stillwater, MN. It's called Teddy Bear Park. After being in the car for awhile, the kids needed to get out. So this was a perfect spot. They had lots of fun showing Grandma what they can do!

Irvine Park

The other day Matt and I took the kids to Irvine Park to check out some of the animals. This was our practice run for when we take all of them to a bigger zoo later this summer. It was a fun beautiful day. Durant was excited to see the animals, just as long as he didn't get too close. Carter and Ana didn't have a problem getting close. Here are a few pictures....

Our Family

Today I saw a friend of mine that I don't see often. I showed her this picture of our kids and she said, "I just love your multi-cultural family"
And I said, "Thanks, so do I. I'm very honored to walk around with them and to be a multi-cultural family!"
I really do love the fact that we are a diverse family. I pray that Matt and I can be a positive example of God's love and acceptance of everyone. I pray that our family will cause others to think about their own views and judgements they might have for people that are different than them.
My love for diversity started when I was just a little girl. To be living it has been an amazing journey. I'm so excited to see where it takes us.....

Durant, OK

One of my good friends (Paula) discovered that there is a city called Durant! She surprised me with it at a shower she had for me last week. She took the time to get a hold of the city and have them send me lots of information on the city, shirts, hats, pen, bumper sticker, and more!! The city even sent a card for baby Durant and had their employees sign it. Paula said they were so excited for us. It was such a fun surprise.
Now we totally have to take a trip to Durant, OK!!!
Here's the website just in case you feel like taking a road trip.....

Durant's Eating Habits

Last week Matt and I decided to take our family to Old Country Buffet (not an easy thing to get Matt to do) to finally figure out some things Durant will eat. He's been living on lots of bread, Cheerios, milk, and water. So we figured if we had tons of choices for him, we'd find something he really liked.
What did we discover you ask? Well, after countless things being thrown to the floor or having him shake his head no at we discovered these things to be his favorite:

Breaded Shrimp (he ate like 20)
Mashed Potatoes
Fried Rice

Not what we were thinking, but at least now we know!!
